Green acres only aim is to make sure that our animals are placed in loving, secure homes. Many of them will have already known hardship, neglect, or abuse. We need to make potential owners aware that to adopt any animal is a lifelong commitment, this could be for any length of time up to 15-20 years.
Our adpotion procedure consists of 3 steps
1. Fill in the online application form for adoption, we will then be in touch as soon as possible to say whether your application has been successful or not if it has you will continue to next step.
When you pick up your new family member you will be asked to sign an adoption agreement to ensure you understand the level of care we require for our animals, and also make a non refundable donation on the day of adoption. Please read this adoption form at the bottom of this page.
Please remember we are non profit making your money goes towards the vets bill's for neutering, worming, flea treatments, feeding etc and help's to contribute towards the huge costs incurred by rescue and also to ensure your level of commitment.
Our current Adoption Donation is a suggested £75 per dog and £25 per cat. Other animals will vary please ask.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADOPTION
Please read carefully and initial each paragraph.

Failure to do so with stop the adoption.
1. I have considered all aspects of pet ownership including the costs of insurance, vet fees, feeding, boarding and grooming. I also have the time to give proper exercise and undertake any training that is needed. I am prepared to accept the personal and financial responsibility of owning a pet.
2. I confirm this animal is being adopted as a family pet and will live inside the home as a member of the family. It will be provided with adequate water and will an identity tag at all times. It will not be chained or kenneled outside.
3. I agree to register this animal with a qualified vet. I will maintain a vaccination and worming programme in accordance to the vets guidelines. I understand that it is my responsibility to pay for all veterinary treatments from the moment of adoption.
4. I understand that due to the unknown history of this animal there can be no guarantees against any hereditary defects, or any unknown conditions or illness that Green Acres are unaware of. I agree that Green Acres cannot be held liable for any future treatment of this animal.
5. I understand that once adopted I am responsible for keeping this animal under proper control. I accept full responsibility for the animal and its actions. I am aware that sometimes animals cause damage by chewing, scratching or biting and agree that Green Acres are not responsible for any actions of the animal once it is in my care.
6. I agree to contact Green Acres immediately should any behavioural problems arise. I agree Green Acres cannot be held responsible for the animals behaviour once adopted and I will work with them and/or a behaviourist to try and rectify any problems.
7. This animal is not to be passed to another owner or any other rescue without Green Acres prior consent.
8. I agree that should I chose not to keep this animal, or if I am ever unable to keep for any reason. I will return to Green Acres Animal Rescue in Pembrokeshire Wales. (This also applies to foster homes no matter what part of the county I collect animal from.)
9. There will be no refund for any animal that leaves and is then returned.I confirm that I have read, understood and fully agree with the Terms and Conditions of Adoption. I understand that if any of the terms and conditions are broken Green Acres or one of their authorised representatives, has the right to remove the animal from my care.
I agree that Green Acres have the right to contact me by email, telephone or in person from time to time to ensure that the animal is happily settled.
I certify the information I have given is true and realise that any misrepresentation of the facts will result in my losing the privilege of adopting the animal. I understand Green Acres has the right to stop the adoption of the animal at any time.

N.B. These rules are put in place to ensure the best possible home is found for our animals. Whilst we understand the majority of people comply with them, there have been a few that have made in necessary to have the rule clearly set out. If you fail to comply with any of the above this document will be produced in a court of law if action is taken against you.
