Please Help Ozzie the Dobermann
Ozzie was given to Llanelli Dogs Home by his owners as they did not have time for him but it was confirmed by neighbours that Ozzie spent long periods of time in a 6' x 8' back yard. He was with Llanelli Dogs Home for sometime and then when they decided to close he came to us to find his forever home. On arrival at Green Acres is was apparent that Ozzie had some problems with his back legs, this had not been previously investigated. After a visit to our vets and xrays it was found that Ozzie suffers for Lumber Sacral Disease this condition effects his lower spine and reflexes, but is managable with medication. Ozzie is now on Vivitonin 100mg twice a day the down side is this costs £2 per day.
Ozzie is now in foster care with Trudi, he has fitted in well. He is house trained, travels well in car, walks well on the lead, lives happily with 2 other dogs and children and is an all round good dog. We are now searching for a forever home for him with a committed owner that will keep up is treatment. Since being in foster he has lost a little of the extra weight he was carrying and with the medication his condition has much improved and is now playing and enjoying walks again.
Can you offer Ozzie what he so so deserves? If you can please fill in the online adopt application form.
Even if you cannot adopt Ozzie there are a few things that you can do to help him.
1. Make a donation to help cover the vet bills (These stand now in the hundreds of pounds after numerous vet visits, Xrays, a dental and the ongoing £2 a day for his medication) Donations can be done on line via our donations page or cheques can be sent to our charity shop. Green Acres Animal Rescue, 95 Charles St, Milford Haven, Pembs.
2. Make a poster and advertise Ozzie looking for a new home. (Please include tel numbers and website on posters).
3. Post Ozzies need of a new forever home on networking sites, Facebook, MySpace or any other that will advertise him.
I am sure there is someone out there that would offer Ozzie a home and if we work together we can find it. We will home anywhere in the UK as long as adoptors are willing to travel to Green Acres to adopt.
Big thank you from everyone at Green Acres and Ozzie for reading this.
